IN A FEW SENTENCES (OR MORE), PLEASE SUMMARIZE YOUR ENTIRE WEDDING DAY
FROM START TO FINISH. THE MORE DETAILED THE BETTER:
We started the day with prayers with our friends and it was great to have supportive friends around us. Dressing up was fun! We danced in our suite with our bridesmaids and groomsmen as we got ready! And everyone was looking their best. Our first look was fun and super dramatic. I walked up to him and I knew he was nervous but also super excited. He fainted to the ground when he saw me and I was laughing so hard I couldn’t feel my face. We had our wedding hall first look and it was gorgeous! It was different and our theme colours were everywhere, the table linen were velvet and gorgeous to look at. We had a mini first dance when no one was looking haha we were super excited and happy with what we were looking at. The ceremony was precise, our family did the marital rites some of which includes the heroes entrance with his Aso Ebi and him doing some workouts to prove that he was strong enough and respectful enough to take care of the bride, another which includes a fake bride walking in with a veil and the grooms family had to decipher that it wasn’t me to prove that they know me and the bridal entrance with her girls which is usually the highlight of the day. After the joining, we changed to our second outfit for the second round of traditional rites tailored for the groom and his family.
YOUR TOP 3 BEST MOMENTS AND WHY:
1. Our entrance: on both our sides we had fun and the hype from our friends made it even better
2. Carrying the bride: we’ve always laughed at how he wouldn’t be able to lift me up but he did and he did a little work out with me in his arms lol
3. Fake bride entrance: it was hilarious actually. When the fake bride came in and my parents were asked if she was the bride, my mom answered yes lol and I yelled back at her saying “is this the girl I brought home to you” I was both amused and annoyed but more amused lol. Fortunately the representative from her family did not hear my moms outburst and we yelled “no that’s not the bride”
WEDDING SONG, EXPLAIN CHOICE OF SONG:
Ifewagbona by Tuesday savage and Leo wonder: It’s Flo’s favorite Nigerian d love song and he’s particular about the lyrics, every time it comes on he does not hesitate to sing it to me. It was a perfect fit for our traditional wedding first dance
OUR TOP 3 FAVOURITE WEDDING DETAILS (CAKE, FLOWERS, DRESS, BAND, ETC.)
AND WHY:
1. Our reception decor : planning a wedding in a pandemic was tough, one of our many hurdles was having to find another venue 3 weeks before our wedding because our first venue cancelled on us. Our wedding planner found us a new venue. It was the first time seeing how gorgeous the hall was. It was proof that against all odds we were still there and our dream was coming to life. The mix of our theme colours and outfit colours with all of our favorite things from the entrance to the stage! It was perfect
2. Our wedding cake: super different from what people usually use for cakes, we wanted to go modern but still have a some of our traditional roots infused in its tropical look.
3. Our first outfit: that was the highlight for me, it was gorgeous and we complemented each other well.
