Pets. You have them. You love them. You did not think it would happen, but they found a way to wrap you around their pet fingers. Now that you are getting married, your wedding will not be complete without your pet by your side; so what do you do? “I want my pets at my wedding!” How do you incorporate your pet into your wedding?

Here are 10 ideas to think about:

• The Aisle: You have probably seen this in one romantic comedy or two. Your pet can walk down the aisle along with the wedding party.
• Ringbearer: We are sure that you have probably seen this done as well. Your pet can be the ring bearer at your wedding. Affix the rings to a secure place on your pet, and when it is time for the exchange rings, your pet brings the rings to you.
•  Chaperone: Have a designated spot for your pet at the altar with the couple, acting as a chaperone for the main event.
•  Photo Op: Include your pets in all family photos, this captures the whole family.
•  Bride or Groom: Your pet can act as one of the bridesmaids or groomsmen. This put them in the care of a trusted friend and keeps them in your line of sight all day.
•  So you think you can dance: Include your pet in your first dance, by inviting them to join you to share the moment.
•  Dress to Impress: Dress up your pet for the evening, a tux or a dress. Allow them to feel that they too are a distinguished guest. You also can deck your pet out in the decor of the day. As they move about they will remind guests of your wedding theme.
•  Time Out: Include some time alone with your pet in the schedule. This allows you to take a step back from the hustle and bustle of the day while you reconnect.
•  Special Guest: You will spend a considerable amount of time in the wedding suite; getting ready (before the ceremony, at the reception, possibly an outfit change). Invite your pet to join you in the suite each time. This adds a bit of spark to each transition.
•  Decor Highlight: If your Pet is late (no longer with us) or is unable to attend the wedding, you can still incorporate them by having their photo, a sketch or drawing of your loved pet featured in the wedding stationeries or highlighted in the decor.

venues have strict rules that prevent animals (except service animals) from being inside a venue. Some venues restrict pets from being inside whilst food and beverage are being served.
